2/25/10 - It's been a few weeks since our last update due to the start of the new 2010 season but make no mistake this update is grand! Ladys and Gentlemen the 2009 PSRL Legends Cup champion is Steve Gabbert! With a ten point lead heading into the final event at Rockingham Gabby could have laid back and road it out, but he didnt. Starting from the outside pole Gabby led 120 of the final 172 laps of the season getting his third victory of the year in championship style. A truly great effort by a talented driver! Congrats on your second Legends championship! Other honorable mentions this season were Ozzie for his runner up finish, bad luck seemed to follow him in a few races but otherwise a great year. Third, Randy Cowen, a excellent effort turned in by a newcomer that is sure to write his own legacy here. Fourth,Skoalman and the Copenhagen gang. Not the year they were looking for but in the end found some very useful info to carry into next season. Fifth, Speedball57, another victim of bad luck Speed was shut out of victory lane after what looked to be a early run at a championship. Not to be as lady luck delt him a bad hand on more than one occasion. Eight race wins came from outside the top five in the final order as Mate led the way with three. Other notables were laps raced, Randy Cowen 99.11% or 1773 laps. Laps led,Ozzie 473 or 26.44%. And finally our champion with a awesome finishing average of 3.64 over a 13 race span. Wow, what a great year! We want to thank everyone for racing here at PSRL Legends and hope you return in the fall for another round, be safe and good luck!

2/12/10 - JD gets his second win of the season at Ontario leading 31 laps from the outside pole. With four yellow flags the field was slowed to a pace of 137.153 mph as four drivers traded the lead eight times.Five drivers were still on the lead lap at races end with JD pacing the field by over seven seconds. Good win! It all comes down to this, Championship Weekend at Rockingham! With a ten point lead Gabby looks to be in good shape heading into the final race with Ozzie second and Randy Cowen third. When the dust settles this Sunday morning the 2010 PSRL Legends Cup champion will be crowned. Good luck and thanks for racing PSRL!

2/7/10 - Ozzie puts it all together at Martinsville leading 122 laps to capture the win on Sunday morning! Point leader Gabby was on the pole with a quick lap of 83.406 mph but got tangled up in a early accident putting a damper on his chance at two in a row. He was able to salvage a third place finish limiting the points spread to only three and still has the point with two races remaining. It's back to north of the border as the drivers do battle at Ontario this Tuesday night. Hang on tight as it looks like it will come down to the wire! Good luck!

2/1/10 - Mate rolls at Mosport leading 90 laps and lapping all but one car in dominate fashion! Mate started from the pole with a fast lap of 84.424 mph and with only one caution sped away to victory lane. No rest this week as the Legends drivers do double duty heading off to Atlanta in less than fourty eight hours. High speeds and high banks is the tail of the tape, let it roll! Good Luck!

1/31/10 - All the schedule issues have been corrected and are posted on the Legends schedule page with start times. Sorry for the issues. A recap from Talladega finds Spoiler33 in victory lane leading the most laps with 41. Spoiler held off Mate in the closing laps as a late yellow changed everyones plans. Points are tight with only two seperating 1st and 2nd and seven back to third. This week on Monday night PSRL debuts Mosport Speedway, this half mile paved oval in Bowmanville Canada has a wide racing surface with plenty of room to pass. Pull out your best short track setup and lets roll!

1/22/10 - A recap from Charlotte in the longest race of the year nets Gabby his first win of the season. Gabby led just a tick over half of the laps raced with 82 at the point as six drivers traded the lead seven times in a event that seemed to last forever. A final race total of 105:01.432 made it the longest race in PSRL Legends history. As our attention turns toward the super slab at Talladega the points tighten up and its every man for himself heading down the stretch. Following the run at Talladega we debut a new track to PSRL Legends with Mosport Speedway. You can get it on the tracks page and be ready in advance. Settle in, high banks and high speeds are this weeks toil were only one lap counts...the last one!

12/20/09 - A wild night a Thunder Valley nets team CMS driver JDM his first win of the 2009 Legends season.Eleven lead changes among seven drivers with eight yellow flags slowing the field led to some wild racing all night. Mate led the most laps from the pole with 69 at the point but failed to get a good finish as mechaincal trouble found him more than once in the event. In the end Jd moved to the front from his seventh palce starting position and put himself in contention when it counted. Also a good night for the past champions as they brought home second, third and fifth place finishes. Next up the wide open spaces of the Texas World Speedway. Once again track position and tire ware will be a issue. As Ozzie looks to return to championship form at Texas were he won last year other drivers try to dig out of a early points hole to get back in the mix. Should be a fun run! Good Luck!

12/9/09 - Great racing again tonight in PSRL Legends! Spoiler33 grabs his second straight pole with a fast lap of 88.945 mph and the field was off and running. Ozzie made short order of things going to the front early and leading 68 laps in what would turn out to be some close racing at the end for the win. Gabby drew near several times but was unable to make a clean pass and settled for second. A great run by two veteran drivers and it was easy to see that only those two were in the same zip code. Ozzie moves into a tie for the points lead as we head back down south for a run at Thunder Valley! Bristol is next, how long can you hold your breath?

12/8/09 - Great racing at Daytona in all three events! In the shootout qualifier Spoiler33 showed why he is the defending champion leading the entire way from the pole. It took 9 min and 23 seconds to complete and everyone set sites on the shootout. New to the series ECR Mate found his way into the server area late but made good use of his time leading 6 out of 20 laps to win the shootout in his first ever PSRL start. A two day break led to the season opener and it was a great race.Spoiler33 sat on the pole with a fast lap of 193.527 mph and teammate Ozzie led the most laps with 44. However, in the end ECR Mate used excellent pit work along with fast lap times to grab the win and finish off his sweep of Legends Speedweeks 2009. Dont look now but the series goes green with race number 2 in less than 24 hours at Thompson Speedway! Another track were pit stops and track position are the keys to victory.Good luck to everyone!
